ReplyDeleteI don't use the Characters OR Settings stuff... I know, total waste of money right? But actually, the outlining and non-linear editing option has saved my NaNovel's life. *cheers*

It does look pretty! I'm obsessed with Scrivener. I need to use the characters and setting pages more. I love the idea of being able to see inspiration photos of everything.

ReplyDeleteGhenet- That is my favorite part! And it's wonderful when you're writing historical novels because you can get pictures of the places and things you need to describe and flip back to them as needed.
Medeia- I understand. I actually haven't explored a lot of the options because it's just overwhelming. But what I have seen, I liked. :)
Oh...I just started using Scrivener! I love how I can compile notes and photos and even my web pages. I keep finding new things to do with it~ so far, I'd have to say I love it!
ReplyDeleteLooks as if you are making great use of the software! I have scrivener--used it for my NANO outline and I loved being able to see it either as a corkboard OR a text outline. But then, as I got into the frenzy of writing, I went back to Word. Maybe I'm still a bit scared of scrivener for writing the actual mss. Could be because when I was learning it, I thought I'd suddenly lost the chapters! I found them, and still don't know what happened. Think I need more practice time! Good luck with your draft.

I thrive on visuals & that software looks pretty darn good. It even has screenwriting option that looks better than what I've been using, Final Draft.
ReplyDeleteBellaVida- Yay visuals!! Also the formatting is one of my favorite features. It's lets you compile everything into a standard novel format when you're done, and I'm sure it would do the same for screenwriting.
